Fernando José Cebola Lidon is a Full Professor in the NOVA School of Science and Technology of the New University of Lisbon, Portugal and the Director of the GeoBioSciences-NOVA, GeoTechnologies-NOVA and GeoEngineering - NOVA (GeoBioTec-NOVA). Is also the Coordinator of the Scientific Committee of the Ph D Program on Agroindustrial Technology and of the Msc. on Agroindustrial Production and Transformation Technologies. He did short-term visiting research in NDSU in 2012, and University Georgia in 2014, and followed by visiting research during his sabbatical leave (7 months) in Pennsylvania State University in USA in 2016. Dr. Xu is serving as Editor-in-Chief of Nutrition, Dietetics & Nutraceuticals, Associate Editor-in-Chief of Food Science and Human Wellness, Associate Editor of Food Research International, Associate Editor of Food Frontiers, Co-Editor of The Open Bioactive Compounds Journal, and Guest Editor for special issues of Antioxidants, International Journal of Molecular Sciences, Molecules, the Editorial Board member of around 10 international journals. He received inaugural President’s Award for Research of UIC in 2016, and President’s Award for Service of UIC in 2020.
Huada Daniel Ruan is the Professor and Founding Head of the Environmental Science Program (Department), Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (UIC). Prof. Ruan earned his first PhD in Mineralogy from The University of Western Australia, and second PhD in Chemistry from Queensland University of Technology. He has a background in chemistry, earth sciences, environmental science, biological science, and published more than 140 articles. Prof. Ruan is the pioneer researcher established water eutrophication index and innovated techniques in bauxite refinery in Australia, and advanced bio-chemical remediation of contaminated soils in U.S.A. He is the Adjunct Professor, Griffith University, Australia; Visiting Professor, South China Agricultural University, and Guangdong Research Institute of Ecology and Soil Science.
Bing-Huei Chen, male, food scientist, received his Ph.D. degree in Food Science & Technology, Texas A & M University, USA in 1988. His postgraduate career includes working at Fu Jen University, Taipei, Taiwan as Associate Professor from 1988–1994, Professor from 1994–2004, Distinguished Chair Professor from 2003–present, Chair of Department of Nutrition and Food Science from 1994-2000, Director of Graduate Institute of Medicine from 2006–2009, and Dean of College of Human Ecology from 2012–2015. He specializes in Lipid Chemistry, Pigment Chemistry, Instrumental Analysis, Food Toxicology, Functional Food and Botanical Drug Development and Biological Activity Determination as well as Nanotechnology. Until now he has published 199 research articles in internationally renowned journals and authored 11 book chapters in edited books published by International Publishers. He has received numerous awards including the prestigious National Invention Gold Medal Award by Ministry of Economics, Taiwan in 2018 and was honored with Outstanding Research Scientist by Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan. He was also honored with International Outstanding Inventor of Biotechnology by Taiwan Inventor Association/International Innovation and Invention Alliance Association in 2019 and Distinguished Professor by Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, China in 2015. Most importantly, Prof. Chen has developed a nano-product “Lycopene Chylomicron”, which has completed a phase III clinical trial in both Taiwan and USA in 2017 and demonstrated to be effective in the treatment of patients with prostatauxe syndrome. Expectedly, this product will become the first botanic drug in the world for treatment of patients with prostatauxe syndrome without side effect. More recently, the International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM), a European organization has honored him with IAAM Scientist Award 2020 for his contribution to the advancement of science and technology. At the same year he was also honored with Vebleo Fellow. He also serves as Editor-in-Chief of the journal “Recent Patents on Food, Nutrition and Agriculture” and Associate Editor of 2 journals “Journal of Food & Drug Analysis” and “Asian Science Bulletin”. In addition, he serves on the editorial board of 135 journals. Currently he is the President of Professors Association, Taiwan and was the Past President of AOAC Taiwan section from 2016-2018.
Dr. Amir Alakaam is an Associate Professor and interim director of Master of Public Health at University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. He is also a Registered Dietitian in United States. Dr. Alakaam has over six years of clinical experience as a physician in family medicine and general surgery, and several years of teaching and research experience in the area of nutrition and public health at university level. Dr. Alakaam has served as a book reviewer, invited journal reviewer for numerous peer reviewed journals, and a professional member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, American Public Health Association, American Diabetes Association, and other national and states associations. His research interests focus on using the concepts of the Socio-Ecological Model to address health and nutrition needs of marginal populations. He is also interested in the research related to breastfeeding’s policies and practices in the U.S. hospitals, and eating habits of international students and immigrants in the U.S. His publication appeared in several journals such as Journal of Epidemiological Research, Journal of Human Lactation, Journal of International Students, and AIMS Public Health.
Yuthana Phimolsiripol currently works as Associate Professor at the Faculty of Agro-Industry, Chiang Mai University and acts as Director of Food Innovation and Packaging Center (FIN). He is also Associate Editor of Journal of Food Processing and Preservation (JFPP), Wiley and is Editor of Quality Assurance and Safety of Crops & Foods Journal (QASCF).
Sreenivasan Sasidharan obtained his Ph. D. degree in 2007 from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia. Currently, he serves as the Deputy Director in the Institute for Research in Molecular Medicine, Universiti Sains Malaysia. He has over 179 publications with a total impact factor of 190 (With more than 3300 citations in Scopus and h-Index = 31), published 13 chapters in book with international publishers, as well as Keynote, Invited Speaker and Chair of International & National Congresses. Has been serving as an Editorial Board Member, reviewer of international journals and evaluator for national and international grants. He has been recognized nationally and internationally as an expert in Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology, and anticancer studies, especially those that involve the pharmacological activity of medicinal plants. In 2020, he was figured among the top two percent (2%) scientists in a global list compiled by the prestigious Standford University from the United States (US). He reviewed more than 400 (Publoans) manuscripts for international journals. Güzin KABAN is a professor in the Department of Food Engineering at the Atatürk University. Dr. Kaban has been working on meat science and technology and food biotechnology. She worked as a researcher or project manager in many projects. She has more than 60 articles published in academic journals indexed by SCI and SCI-Expanded and over 200 communiqués presented in national and international scientific gatherings. Pierluigi Plastina obtained his degree in Chemistry in 2002 and his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry in 2005 from University of Calabria (Rende, Italy). He was research fellow at the Department of Chemistry of the same University in 2006-2007 working on the development of new methods for the quantitative analysis of bioactive compounds in food matrices by means mass spectrometric techniques. He was post-doctoral fellow at the Division of Human Nutrition of the Wageningen University (Wageningen, The Netherlands) in 2007-2008 working under the supervision of Professor Renger Witkamp on n-3 fatty acid ethanolamides with anti-inflammatory properties. Then he moved back to University of Calabria as a research fellow working on the extraction, identification and pharmacological characterization of bioactive compounds from food matrices. He was visiting scientist at the Wageningen University in 2012 and again in 2013. He is currently permanent senior researcher and adjunct professor of Food Chemistry at the Department of Pharmacy, Health and Nutritional Sciences of the University of Calabria. His main research interests are devoted to the investigation of bioactive lipids with potential anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anticancer and antidiabetic properties and their identification in food matrices and waste materials. He is author of 45 papers, 5 reviews and 3 book chapters. He has been serving as an editorial board member of reputed journals, such as Food Quality and Safety and Molecules (section Food Chemistry).
Edward Muntean is professor at the Department of Food Sciences within the Faculty of Food Science and Technology, University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj Napoca, Romania, teaching Analytical Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry for undergraduate students, Advanced Techniques of Food Analysis and Chemical Risk Analysis for Master students. His studies include a B.Sc. in Organic Chemical Engineering (Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj Napoca), postgraduate studies in Applied Informatics and Programming (Technical University Cluj Napoca), a M.Sc. in Biochemistry and Biotechnology of Plant Pigments (University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj Napoca) and a PhD in Chemistry (Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj Napoca). He published eleven books focusing on analytical and inorganic chemistry and more than 100 papers in scientific journals. Prof.Edward Muntean undertakes coordinated research contracts (he has managed seven independent research projects), being also involved in the activity of many professional societies. Since 2010, he has been working as a scientific editor, being member of editorial and advisory boards of several international journals. In the past years, he was concerned mostly in the chemistry and biochemistry of carotenoids - analytical strategies, biochemical researches and applications in food industry. Presently, his research focuses on applications of high performance liquid chromatography and ion chromatography in detecting emerging food and medicinal plants’ contamination.

Rajka Božanić is a full professor at the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, University of Zagreb. She is head of the Department for Food Technology and Engineering and the head of Laboratory for Milk and Dairy Products Technology, and teaches dairy issues at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral studies. So far, she has published 95 scientific and professional papers and actively participated in over 50 scientific conferences. She is the co-author of two university textbooks "Milk and Dairy Products" and "Types of Milk" and the university manual "Analysis of Milk and Dairy Products". She is the editor of the manual “The World of Cheese. Handbook for Cheese Tasters.”. She has reviewed 6 university textbooks and scientific books, mostly in the field of dairy. She is member of editorial board of 4 scientific journals and chief editor of scientific journal Mljekarstvo (Dairy). As a member of the Scientific Committee participated in the organization of more than 10 scientific conferences. She has participated in the development of 5 ordinances from the dairy areas. She is the winner of the state award for science for 2012 in the category "Significant scientific achievement" for the improvement of milk processing technology and the improvement of dairy products.
Dr. Wentao Zhang is a Associate Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of College of Food Science and Engineering, Northwest A&F University, . He obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2018 from Northwest A&F University. In 2018, he won the National Postdoctoral Program for Innovative Talents of China. He has over 75 publications with total impact factor over 400 (with more than 2540 Citations and H-Index=29). His main research directions and interests focus on nanotechnology in cell, bacteria and food systems, food safety and quality detection, pest prevention and control, bio-based nanomaterials.
Özlem TURGAY has completed her PhD İstanbul University Department of Food Hygiene and Technology 1997. She is currently working as Prof. Dr. at Kahramanmaras Sutcu Imam University. She is interested in Food Microbiology and Food Toxicology. Turgay performed a visiting scholar at the Food Science Department /University of Georgia, USA during June-September 2013 and as visiting a professor at the Belgian Antwerp University during June-September 2003 and Munich Technical University June-September 2005. She has published many papers in peer-reviewed journals and serving as an editorial board member of selected journals. Dr. Pradyuman Kumar is working as Professor with Department of Food Engineering and Technology, Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (Deemed-to-be-University) Longowal (Punjab). Dr. Pradyuman has acquired his PhD (Agricultural & Food Engineering) from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, Master degree from GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar after graduation from Banaras Hindu University Varanasi. He is recipient of Graduate Research Assistantship during his Master programme. He has published more than 170 research papers and articles in national and international journals and conferences and 11 book chapters. He has guided 23 MTech and 9 PhD students for their research works. He has about 24 year’s experience of teaching and research. His research area is food formulation, food powder, extruded products, nutraceuticals and functional foods. He has evaluated many international research projects. He is member of BSMA for Food Science and Technology for designing syllabus of MTech and PhD programme of Indian Council of Agriculture Research Delhi and Board of Studies of various academic programme of many institutions. He is recipient of Young Scientist award for 2005 and Dr. J. S. Pruthi Award for 2019 from AFST, Mysore.
Dr. Muhammed Yuceer is an academician (Associate Professor in the Department of Food Processing, Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Canakkale, Turkey). He received his bachelor's degree from Van Yuzuncu Yil University’s department of food engineering (2002), and his master's degree from Istanbul Technical University's department of food engineering (2007) where his research involved studying cholesterol reduced liquid egg yolk, in particular, its rheology and characterization. Yuceer obtained his Ph.D. in Food Engineering Department of Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University (2013) under the guidance of Professor Cengiz Caner on the subject of extending the shelf life of egg using active packaging and novel preserving methods. His career began in 2002, the R&D department of A.B Foods Company, which manufacturers' egg products (liquid, frozen, powder), cakes, cake-gel, pastry products and processing aids for the food industry. Prior joining the University of Canakkale Onsekiz Mart, he was a Deputy Director of Factory Manager (Prod. -Quality-R&D Manager) for A.B Foods Company, as an egg-processing expert for 10 years. Dr. Yuceer is on the Editorial Board in several Journals. He has authored numerous articles and his current research interests include an application of novel processing methods in egg science and shelf-life extension of foods as well as functional foods. He participated in lots of competitive research and commercial projects. His research focuses on the application of novel techniques (antimicrobial packaging, edible coating, ozone, ultrasound, etc.) and processing aids (enzymes) in egg & egg products. He has deep knowledge on egg processing with over ten years of wide experience in egg research. His focus today is on the study of lysozyme separation from egg white using emerging techniques. Yuceer is married and is a father of three children.
