Dr. Hettie is an NCI/NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein NRSA Fellow (PI/PD) in the Departments of Radiology and Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery within the School of Medicine at Stanford University that specializes in the design, development, and implementation of near-infrared-I/II peptidyl-, nucleic acid-, and immuno-based activatable bio-/molecular probes, biosensors, theranostics, and nanoparticles selectively targeting and capitalizing on biomarkers of intracranial brain cancers and their resultant tumor microenvironment to offer their early detection, direct visualization, improved margin delineation, and complete resection for usage in fluorescence and radionuclide image-guided surgical navigation. He focuses on their rational design, bio-/chemical synthesis, and bio-/analytical evaluation at both a basic science research and preclinical level to enable their successful clinical translation.
James H. Adair is a Professor in Materials Science and Engineering, Bioengineering and Pharmacology at The Pennsylvania State University. His research and teaching interests include biological-nanoscale composite particulates for nanomedical applications, colloid and interfacial chemistry, material chemistry, nanoparticle characterization, and ceramic and metal particulate processing. Dr. Adair received his A.A. degree in Chemistry from Palm Beach Junior College (1972), and B.S. in Chemistry (1975) and M.S. (1979) and Ph.D. (1981) in Materials Science and Engineering, all from the University of Florida. From 1981-1982, he was a Fulbright Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Western Australia in the Department of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition and the Royal Perth Hospital where he studied the biophysical chemistry origin of pathological biomineralization including human kidney stone disease. Dr. Adair was a Principal Research Scientist at Battelle Memorial Institute from 1982-1986. He joined Penn State as a Research Associate at the Materials Research Lab from 1986-1990. Adair was a faculty member from 1990 to 1997 at the University of Florida. He has been at Penn State as a Professor of Materials Science and Engineering since 1998. In 2012, he received courtesy faculty appointments in Biomedical Engineering and Pharmacology. He co-founded PendreaBio (formerly Keystone Nano, Inc.) in 2005 and serves as a member of the Board of Directors and Chief Science Officer. Dr. Adair is the author or co-author of over 250 publications, nineteen US patents with numerous other foreign patents, many technical reports to sponsoring agencies, and several copyrights on computer software. He has been chair or co-chair of many symposia related to materials chemistry and colloid and powder processing science at American Ceramic Society and American Chemical Society at national and international meetings. He is also the co-editor of twelve books including the Handbook of Characterization Techniques for the Solid-Solution Interface. Dr. Adair is a Fellow of the American Ceramic Society and the World Academy of Ceramics and holds memberships in the American Chemical Society and the New York Academy of Sciences. He was elected as an Academician in the Science Division of the World Academy of Ceramics in 2005. He is past Chair of the Basic Science Division of the American Ceramic Society and has served in various capacities in the American Ceramic Society at both the local and national level. He was named one of the International Men of Achievement in 1996. Dr. Adair has also received recognition for his inventions by Battelle Memorial Institute, Cabot Corporation, the University of Florida, and The Pennsylvania State University. He has received several awards for innovations in teaching and research while on the faculty at the University of Florida and at Penn State and is the originator of the Materials Chemistry course developed and taught originally at the University of Florida and now Penn State to engineering freshmen. He received one of six Faculty Scholar Medals awarded in Pennsylvania State System in 2017, his for Entrepreneurship. In 2018, he was named the Inventor of the Year at Penn State University. Jingwei Xie received his B.S. and M.S. from Nanjing University of Technology, China, and his Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore (2007). He worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the Xia group at Washington University in St. Louis. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Surgeryâ€Transplant and Holland Regenerative Medicine Program at University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is also an adjunct Faculty in the Department of Mechanical & Materials Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He has won a number of awards including UNMC New Investigator Award 2015, Most Promising Invention Award 2017, Licensed Technology Award 2017 and 2018, Dr. Harold & Beverly Maurer Scientific Achievement Award, The Nebraska Coalition for Lifesaving Cures 2019, WashU patent award 2019 and 2020, and UNMC Distinguished Scientist Award 2020. His research interests include biomaterials, drug delivery, nanomedicine, tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, wound infection and healing, and hemostasis.
Pavel Loskot joined the ZJU-UIUC Institute in January 2021 as an Associate Professor after 14 years as a Senior Lecture at Swansea University in the UK. He obtained his PhD degree in from the University of Alberta in Canada, and the MSc and BSc degrees from the Czech Technical University of Prague in the Czech Republic. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK, and the Recognized Research Supervisor of the UK Council for Graduate Education. His current research interests focus on mathematical and probabilistic modeling, statistical signal processing and classical machine learning for multi-sensor data in biomedicine, computational molecular biology, and in wireless communications.

Dr. Feng-Huei Lin was born in 1957 in Taiwan. He obtained his BS degree in Department of Earth Sciences, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan, in 1980. In early 1990, Dr. Lin was recruited as an associate professor in Centre for Biomedical Engineering, College of Medicine, National Taiwan University (NTU); where he started his academic career. In 1997, he was promoted to the full professor. He organized to setup the Institute of Biomedical Engineering in NTU and served as acting director in the institute (1997-1999). Afterwards, Dr. Lin was invited to be the first director in Department of Biomedical Engineering of NTU-hospital with engineering background (2003-2005). Then he returned to Institute of Biomedical Engineering, NTU, as director (2005-2008). Assigned by National Science Council, Taiwan Dr. Lin made the budget allocation and future 10-year financial plan as the Convenor of Biomedical Division (2006-2009). Then Dr. Lin transferred to Division of Biomedical Engineering, National Health Research Institutes (NHRI), as the director and took charge of the development of biomaterials and tissue engineering (2008-2012). Now, he is the distinguished professor in NTU, chair professor in National Taipei University of Technology, executive editor of Journal of Biomedical Engineering, International fellow of International College of Biomaterials Sciences and Engineering, Fellow, The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE). Dr Lin has served as standing committee members in many international societies since 1996. He was the permanent international advisory board in Ceramic, Cell and Tissue (CCT) (1998-2010); and served as the President in 2010. He was one of the standing committee members in WACBE (2005-) and council member in TERMIS-AP Chapter (2009-2011). He also served as editorial board members in many SCI journals, e.g. Biomaterials, International Journal of Biomaterials, International Journal of Biomaterial Research and Engineering, Journal of Musculoskeletal Research etc.. Prof. Dr. Oluwaseun John Dada is Professorial Chair of Signature EcoSystems Technologies. He has worked many years on NanoScale materials, advanced materials manufacturing and applications, and more years in Metallurgy and Aluminium Manufacturing. I have achieved Electrolytic syntheses, characterizations, and applications of novel graphene/nano-Carbons, resulting in Superior Electrical, Electronic, Thermal and Dielectric characteristics; also resulting in the Highest Capacities when applied to Lead Acid and Lithium-ion Batteries, resulting from higher Utilization of Electrode Materials, 1st to demonstrate electrode precipitation and dissolution mechanisms in the gel-crystal electroactive zone of the lead-acid battery; synthesized graphene also resulted in higher viscoelastic mechanical behaviour in graphene-enhanced epoxy nanocomposites prepared by in-situ reduction of GO by solvent evaporation and hot stirring. Synthesized highly scalable and diversely applicable crystalline pristine graphene directly from graphite, with high basal planarity using solid-state processes, or alternative colloidal sonication process. This has resulted in the high-performance graphene anode for lithium-ion battery. On the project on FSW, Dr Dada have achieved parametric analysis, 1st SEM demonstration of material flow pattern, and failure characteristics of Friction Stir Welds of industrial and aeronautical alloys. Experience dates back to Alussuisse owned Nigerian Aluminium Extrusion, a Laboratory Extrusion project, and AIRBUS FSW project at Wits University. Prof. Dada received PhD in Mechanical Engineering Nanotechnology Concentration at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong. She has delivered talks as an invited speaker at various international conferences including COPD-2021, CWC-2021, COPD -2022, World Conference on Paediatrics and Neonatal Healthcare, Global Conference on Healthcare held in North Macedonia, Turkey, US, and UK. She has been a resource person for AICTE sponsored Faculty Development Programmes on both Data Science and Cyber Security. She has been the Speaker on Data Science at Annual International Meet on Women in Data Science -2021.She has been the session chair for ICTIEE 2023, AICDMB 2022 and AIC 2022 international conferences. She has been a member of international professional bodies including ACM and IAENG. She has attended various workshops organized by AICTE for implementation of Outcome Based Education and has been a resource person for the same
Professor Sivakumar Rajagopal received a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Bharathiar University. He also received a Master of Engineering and PhD degree in Information and Communication Engineering from the College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University, Chennai, India. His research interests include Bio Signal Processing, Medical Image Processing, wireless body sensor networks, and VLSI. He has published over 90 journal articles and over 70 conference papers over the last several years. He has taught a wide variety of electronics courses including Digital Image Processing, Multimedia Compression Techniques, VLSI Design, Medical Electronics, and Electronic Circuits. Dr Siva is a life member of the Indian Society of Technical Education and a senior member of IEEE. Dr Siva has been invited to deliver Keynote Speeches and Chair various international conferences.
